I Want HUGE

A VERY typical comment from Dej -over almost anything- is that she wants 'Huge'. If she says she wants huge chips -it means she wants the entire bag, huge toys -means she wants all of them and not just one or two, huge drink -means she wants the big one that you have, and no....don't expect to get it back .....and so on. She's really been into painting her toes, and I stocked up on some new colors for her when Fred Meyers had them on sale for 50 cents. Well, last night, she wanted to paint her toes. I asked her what color and she wanted 'huge' ....so we did one color on each toe, and topped it all off with sparklies. She was so pleased.... except for she refuses to not touch them long enough to let them dry, so they are now all smeared and gross.

Krew's Two Months!

My little Krew dude is already two months old!! He's doing awesome! His 2 months stats were weighing in at a whopping 11 pounds 3 ounces (2 lbs bigger than Dej was) -putting him in the 33%tile....and 21 3/4 inches tall -putting him in the 8%tile for height. He eats great, is usually most always content and happy, smiles and coos alot -I Love it!, he loves to watch his crazy sister, he's yet to really meet the stinky dog, and he sleeps great! He's gotten to where he'll go down for bed around 9-10 and then sleep until somewhere between 4-6. It's been pretty nice. I sure love my little man! Here's my top favorites from our little '2 month shoot':

Krew Smiles!

Krew Smiles!!! I got my first smile on April 18...in the hotel room, while we waited for dad to get back from his meeting (we tagged along this last week!) I just love baby smiles!!

FIVE Years!

I sure love this guy. So does his little girl...in fact, she could barely go to bed tonight-she's so excited for him to get home tomorrow! I have a sneaky suspicion his little boy is going to love him just as much...he already just stares at his dad when he's home. This year to celebrate our big five year mark Chase surprised me by arranging a babysitter for Both the kids (yes both...I about died, but it was great...he picked the exact person I would have picked to watch them both) and then he took me downtown. We parked and started walking down the sidewalk....I again about died when he turned to go into the Melting Pot! When we were first married I always wanted to go there and Chase said he would never waste the money on something like that! He had a table reserved for us...when we got to it there was a card waiting for us wishing us a happy anniversary. (Chase told me they tried to sale him on some overpriced flowers...but he knows me well and turned them down- flowers are stupid and such a waste of money!!) We decided to go big and got the cheese fondue, a huge platter of all sorts of meats -steak, shrimp, chicken, fish... and then, of course, chocolate peanut butter fondue for dessert! We both agreed it was fun and good....but probably a one time thing, at least for the whole shebang. It took Forever to eat it all (like two and a half hours...and we were trying to hurry so we could get back to the kids -instead of cooking each piece of meat one at a time on our little sticks, we just threw everything into the hot oil at once to try to speed things up!) But we could probably go back for the cheese or dessert! I haven't ate that much in a Long time....I was sick all night I was so full!! This is a little plate they brought out to us...complete with a lite candle -cheesy, but it was cute! (I should have taken a picture of the two of us....but I didn't!) We talked during dinner and the last five years have been kinda crazy, I still can't believe we already have two kids! But here are our 'stats' we came up with, in five years we've had two kids- one dog- two bunnies, moved five times- living in three different states, bought two houses (anyone want to buy one in colorado?!), and have had 10 different cars...if you count my subaru I had when we were engaged. Haha, most of those just make me laugh. It's been a crazy, busy five years and honestly, I really have enjoyed them all. I look back at who I was before Chase and who I have become with him and I'm pretty glad I have him in my life. I couldn't image it any other way. I truly do love you babe! (and that's enough sappy to last another five years!)

Swimming Pool??!

I was so excited for Dej to get this little water/sand table. I thought it would be a Perfect way for her to have fun without really making or getting messy.
Well, I should have known by now that I was wrong.... Deja will find a way to get wet, or messy, or whatever with anything that she does! I gave her a little bit of water to play with in the table while I got dinner ready...she started hollering for me to come see. When I got to the door and saw her SITTING up inside her little table I told her it was not a swimming pool!! She informed me that yes it was, and that it was fun!
Ha! By this point, I needed to finish dinner, she was entertained and already a soaking wet mess, and our house was a blazing 85 degrees (yes....our air conditioner can be added to the list of things to do/fix!) so I let her enjoy her little 'swimming pool' a while longer. Problem now....she's going to try to sit in it every time she goes out to play.

Zoo with Ellie

Our friends, Layne and Krissy, came and visited us this weekend. We had a lot of fun with them....Deja keeps asking where Ellie is! While they were here we went to the zoo. Deja loved to follow Ellie around....and kept repeating everything she'd say.
Chase had to head out of town on Sunday this week, so he didn't get to go with us...but I do have to thank him for teaching his little girl that we eat animals. There were several times that her response to seeing an animal was "I want to eat it" ....the warthog pig, the monkey, and the zebra to name a few. I just kept hoping there weren't any PETA weirdos by us thinking I was teaching my kid to kill and eat any and every animal!I didn't get a ton of pictures...but these two little heads popping up were pretty cute!!
They also went on the Merry-go-round (thanks Layne for giving Deja a dollar to ride it, since her mom fell behind in the cash department!) I got on and rode with them, to hang onto Dej....so I didn't get a picture, but I'll have to try and snag one from Krissy because they were pretty cute. Ellie held Deja's hand the whole time, meanwhile Deja screamed over and over "Look at me Ellie!"

Feeding the Geese

This post has a ton of pictures....I snapped alot that day and decided to just put alot on here...

We took Dej down to Ann Morrison to feed the geese. (We took Krew too....but he didn't really care and slept the whole time). This was Deja's first attempt at feeding the geese.
Before she could even throw the piece of bread, the goose reached out and snatched it out of her hand!! It completely startled me...so I missed getting a picture of it.
It also took Dej off guard....she wasn't sure what to think of the geese after that.
She opted to just let her dad feed them!
But, really can you blame her?!! You can tell those geese get fed alot! They were so impatient!! Chase would try to tear pieces from the slice of bread and the goose would try to grab the whole slice....Chase would try to shoo it away and in turn, got hissed at!
(I included this picture....because it's the only one that shows Krew was there!! hee!)
See.....??!!! Right out of their hands!!
Dej kept calling the geese "Silly Gooses"
This little girl loves her daddy and looks forward to the weekends when she gets to be with him.
Dej loves to be outside, and the freedom to just run around!
I can't believe how stinking nice it is already....I kept hoping for a huge snow storm this spring, but no go! ...which I guess I shouldn't complain, it made my house a little cleaner!
Chase took a soccer ball to play with Dej, and I guess I haven't done a very good job with teaching her what to do...He would kick it to her and she'd bend down -pick it up -and throw it back to him!
We finally got her into kicking it.
Good form Dej!! (haha, I think....?! I'm hoping my little girl will get into sports more than I did, by the time I dropped dancing, it was a little too late to join any teams!! :)

Woa! Look What It Can Do!

Deja got a really sweet Deere tractor from Santa four months ago....and for the past four months, it has sat perfectly still in its special little inside our house. Chase and I decided to NOT hook up the battery...so as to keep our new walls in the house looking new. Well....we decided this last weekend to juice up the battery and show Dej what her vrooom vrooom can really do! Let's just say she was ecstatic! ....after getting over how her dad got it out of the house. -We had it upstairs in our living room, so Chase parked the skidster by our back deck and lifted the bucket as high as it would go. He then took Deja's truck and lifted it over the deck railing and into the bucket. She about died....she was so upset that her dad was taking her vroom vroom!
Once we got it safely on the ground out back she hopped in it and Chase showed her where the pedal was!! It was awesome! It was also a little disappointing tho....our backyard is pretty rocky and uneven, so the truck had a hard time getting traction....
So Chase had to stay close to give Dej a little push every few inches...
I had a hard time getting Deja's attention for a smiley picture...she was too into what she was doing!
She finally got a good little stretch....and I was surprised that she didn't completely gun it (it's probably a good thing for us that it doesn't reach too high a speed)
When Dej would get stuck, she would rock back and forth instead of pushing the pedal (I think this is largely because that was the only way she could get it to move while it was in the house!)
She had a fun little ride....but after the excitement of the whole thing began to wear off....and after not being able to get the truck to go very fast, Dej decided to bail....
....she grabbed her dad's hand and said, "Lets go ride the tractor!" (if I failed to mention before...she refers to the skidster as a tractor) I guess the 'real' toys are a little funner than the actual toys!

My Little Artist

Deja LOVES to do 'big girl' things....and try out all the new crafty stuff we have. She was tickled pink when I showed her her very own tray of water colors to paint with.
I was impressed at how well she did.....she looked so cute and big as she carefully painted her pictures.
The end result, however, was very 'Deja-ish'.....she ended up pouring her cup of water all over her paper and carefully shredded it to pieces! ALSO: her hair-do in these pictures is the result from her head of braids the night before!
